Wendy Maher became the first woman to receive a University Blue, UNSW’s highest award for sporting proficiency and sportsmanship. An exceptional hockey player, Maher earned her Blue in 1965 shortly before graduating from UNSW with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Textile Technology in 1966.
