Born in 1991, Lisa Darmanin is a dual Olympian, winning a silver medal for sailing in Rio in 2016 and placing 5th at the Tokyo games. She is a former junior World Champion and has won several national and international events. Lisa gives back to the sport of sailing by coaching and mentoring and is a champion of elite athletes combining their sport with their studies. Lisa attended UNSW from 2010-2013, completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) at the same time as sailing internationally. She was a Ben Lexcen Scholar and won the 2010 UNSW Female Athlete of the year. Lisa was also Australian Female Sailor of the Year in 2015, 2016, 2020, and 2021. She currently works as a freelancer in media and events.
