High flying innovator in architecture and design thinking.
Carol served in the Women’s Royal Australian Air Force from 1969-1975, before qualifying as an architectural draftsperson and earning her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1988. As an architect, she focused on domestic and public housing projects, emphasising heritage restoration.
Joining the UNSW College of Fine Arts (now UNSW Art & Design) in 1992, Carol taught design theory at UNSW and at two Italian universities, and coordinated Design Thinking programs for university staff and business executives.
Her academic career laid the foundation for her work as an innovator in learning and teaching. Carol received the John Yu Fellowship in recognition of her development of Project X, a multidisciplinary design and construction program involving three UNSW faculties.
Carol has presented globally on various educational topics and also served as Presiding Member of Faculty on the UNSW Council.
